We have the green light to begin our expansion to the back room of our building. We need help rearranging and moving furniture, cleaning and organizing the space. Our goal is to have the space ready for opening on May 15th.

Does your church have a youth group or small group looking for a local, relatively easy service project right here in town?

Then come to Cups Cafe on these dates:

• Saturday May 5, 2012 from 1:00-3:00pm
• Wednesday May 9, 2012 6:30-8:00pm
• Saturday May 12, 2012 1:00-3:00pm

Work Objectives:

• Move office desks and equipment to the basement
• Sweep & mop floor
• Wash windows
• Clean & stock bathrooms
• Clean & organize small kitchen area
• Dust
• Lay down a small section of floating wood flooring
• Cover an existing electric panel box
• Decorate walls and room
• Arrange couch, loveseat, tables and chairs and any other furniture
• Set up a comfy, warm and inviting space where God’s people (the Church) can Serve Hope to Medina - one cup at a time. 

What to bring:

• Gloves
• Brooms & dust pan
• Work clothes
• Cleaning supplies, etc
• A positive, enthusiastic attitude with a heart to do something for Jesus

My plan is to be at Cups during those times. If anyone shows up, then we’ll work and do what we can. Just so everyone is aware...I will wait 15 minutes after the starting time and then head home if no one comes. So if you happen to arrive later than that, please let me know ahead of time or call my cell 330-304-5449.

You may have a small group of folks wanting to help but who are just not able to do so during these times. Please call me and I’d be happy to accommodate your group on a different date and time.

A fat orange and white tabby cat didn’t drag it in. The wind left it at our front door because the supercharged breeze that day was bending trees in half and nearly lifted my car off the ground while waiting at a traffic light. At least I think it was the wind. I mean...I don’t suspect anyone of donating an old golf bag to Cups.

Please don’t take offense to the “old golf bag” phrase if you happened to be the one who gave it to Cups and allow me to truly thank you! But I have a feeling the air donated it. No kidding. I walk outside Cups to find a golf bag shifting and skipping around on our stoop. No clubs, no golf balls, just a bag.

That’s a first.

I’m grateful to God and His people for all we receive. And many of you responded to my last e-mail with such kindness and generosity and for that I thank you. However, there is something Cups needs this month more than a golf bag, and I’m not relying on a kitten or gale force winds to drag it in. I’m asking our Heavenly Father to drag it in and hoping you’ll join me in praying.

Cups Cafe is going to be short money to pay our monthly expenses. We need to raise $1,000 by Tuesday May 1. We’ve been blessed financially in 2012 to the point where we haven’t had to ask you for end of month financial support. But like most non-profits or churches, giving can be low a few months out of the year.

Our financial needs are not impossible for God to handle. We’ve seen Him meet our needs before and so we are going to fire up our faith engine and believe He will provide.
