CUPS CAFE is partnering with the Medina County District Library to collect new and used XBOX 360 & Nintendo Wii video games for the teen rooms at the Library. The video games collected will not be in circulation but will only be accessible for play in the teen rooms.

A label size CUPS CAFÉ sticker with our logo will be placed on each game. And if the value of the video games collected exceeds $250, then CUPS CAFÉ will receive a plaque in the Library.

Will you help us gather games for Medina’s youth and promote Cups Cafe?

If you don’t have a game to give, please tell your friends and family about our Video Game Drive! This drive is a great service project for your youth group or organization to do to help our local Library and raise awareness for Cups! Contact Tim to help!

Here are the details:

Where and when can I drop them off?
That’s easy. Turn in your unwanted games at CUPS CAFÉ 126 N. Court St. in Medina during store hours.

Does it matter what the game is rated?
Yes! We can only accept video games rated E, E-10, or T.

Are you collecting games from every video game system?
No! We only want games playable on the XBOX 360 and Nintendo Wii.

I have a game but it’s used. Can I still donate it?
Yes! We are collecting used and new games.

I have a question. Who can I contact?
Call Tim at: 330.304.5449 or e-mail him: tim@cupscafe.org

We meet the most interesting people at Cups. God sent two young travelers to us a week or so ago. They walk in, clothed in full bicycle gear, including the helmet, and ask for water to fill their bottles.

“How much is that donut?” asks one man.

“It is free!”

Stunned, they just look at each other.

“Everything in here is free,” I say. “Would you like some soup or a sandwich? We also have Ramon noodles and bagels.”

Still stunned, they tell me they couldn't believe that everything could be free and that they would not feel right unless they paid something.

“Well,” I reply. “There is a donation box if you want to give something.”

With that, they sit down to eat commenting all through the meal they couldn't believe a place like Cups exists. During our conversation, I learn they just graduated high school and are traveling from Massachusetts to Oregon following the underground railroad. It is to raise money for Haiti. They sleep in tents at night, sometimes knocking on someone's door asking if they can sleep in their yard. One young man even has plans to attend medical school in the fall to become a doctor.

Everyone at the Cafe that day commented that certainly God had brought them here. We will follow their travels on the internet and pray for their safety. It was a joy to meet and serve them, and talk with them.
